What the Village is Doing for Lead Service Line Inventory:
1. Comprehensive Inventory Requirement: Every water system, without exception, is required to develop a complete inventory of service lines by October 16, 2024. This inventory will include all lines, irrespective of ownership, and must be submitted to the local health department.

Public Access and Notification: Residents and business owners will be notified within 30 days if their service lines are identified as lead service lines (LSL), galvanized service lines requiring replacement (GSLRR), or of unknown material. Updates to the inventory will be made annually or every three years, depending on the monitoring frequency.
3. Transparency and Participation: The process encourages input and cooperation from customers, including residents and business owners, to accurately identify service line materials, especially those that are customer-owned. This collaborative approach ensures that the inventory is as accurate and comprehensive as possible.
4. Health and Safety Information: Along with the inventory, affected property owners will receive detailed information on the health effects of lead, steps to reduce exposure, and opportunities for replacing lead-contaminated lines.
