Storm Emergency Declaration (No Parking on Village Streets)
Village of Briarcliff Manor
STORM EMERGENCY DECLARATION (NO PARKING ON VILLAGE STREETS)
Pursuant to Village Code Chapter 183 and the authority provided under Article 2-B of the New York State Executive Law, the Village Manager (or designee) may declare a storm emergency when winter conditions require prohibiting standing/parking on Village streets to allow for uninterrupted snow removal and emergency access.
Due to the expected intensity and duration of this storm event, to permit our Public Works Staff to plow without issue, and to allow residents adequate time to prepare, the Village is declaring this Storm Emergency in advance. This is not a travel ban – any such ban would be implemented by other authorities. Call the Village Manager’s Office with questions at 914-944-2782.
Declaration
A Storm Emergency is hereby declared to be in effect:
• Start: Sunday, January 25, 2026 at 12:01 AM
• End: Tuesday, January 27, 2026 at 6:00 AM
o Unless otherwise declared expired earlier or extended by the Village Manager.
What this means (action required)
• All parked or standing vehicles must be removed from Village streets no later than one (1) hour after the declaration begins (by 1:01 AM on Sunday, January 25) and must remain off Village streets until the storm emergency expires.
• Please park in driveways or other off-street locations so crews can plow curb-to-curb and keep roadways passable for emergency vehicles.
Enforcement / penalties
After a reasonable effort to contact the owner, the Briarcliff Manor Police Department may tow any vehicle that is parked/standing on a Village street and/or that impedes snow removal or emergency access during the storm emergency. Owners are responsible for all towing and storage charges, and violations may result in applicable fines and penalties under Village Code.
