Open Board of Trustee Position.
There is currently an open position on the Board of Trustees and the Village is calling for any interested resident in serving the community to submit a letter of interest and resume detailing your qualifications to bot@briarcliffmanor.gov by close of business Monday, September 18, 2023.
The Board of Trustees (BOT) is the legislative body of the Village, consisting of five elected residents of the Village responsible for the management and high-level policies of local government. An additional description can be found here
All candidates for trustee must be US citizens, 18 years or older, and residents of the Village of Briarcliff Manor.
The ideal candidate to serve on the Board of Trustees would have previous experience, education, or training with one or more areas relevant to municipal governance, including knowledge of any of the following:
- Public Policy
- Law
- Finance
- Management of Organizations
- Urban Planning
The position requires candidates of the highest ethical integrity, a thick skin for criticism and complaints, no need for thanks, and a willingness to devote hours, and sometimes days, away from friends and family. Solid written and spoken communication skills, an ability to tolerate dissent, and an ability to quickly master a wide array of subject matter is warranted.
Previous experience on volunteer boards would be a plus, too.
Email your application to bot@briarcliffmanor.gov
